Aspiration Tutoring Program emphasizes evidence-based teaching, a combination of Precision Teaching (PT) approach by Dr. Ogden Lindsley and Direct Instruction (DI) curricula.
Precision Teaching vs Tradition Education
- Teaches beyond a percentage – Precision Teaching focus on helping student to reach fluency based performance (demonstrating foundation skill effortlessly with accuracy and speed) that is the basis of future successful academics outcomes.
- Highly data driven – student progress is charted on Standard Celeration Chart (SCC) allowing teachers to accurately analyze performance and adjust teaching promptly to maximize performance gain.
- Precision Teaching teaches students to set personal goals and practice self-determination by relying less on instruction and more on practice and guidance to promote independent learning.
Why Direct Instruction Curriculum
- Students are placed in instructional sessions according to their skill level.
- Lessons are designed to ensure true mastery of content. New skills are taught in isolation (10% of each lesson) à integrating with other skills into more sophisticated, higher-level applications (90% of each lesson).
- Enhancement lessons and Accelerated lessons are built in within the curriculum to ensure individual learning styles to accommodate student’s rate of learning
- All DI curriculums have gone through repeated field testing and revisions that are proven to work before publication.
